The following Realising the Ambition bitesize sessions will be on offer next week:
Adversity and Trauma
Wednesday 10th February, 2pm until 2.45pm
Most people have one or two irritating or negative memories from childhood. Many of the children we encounter will have more, and some will have significant experiences of trauma, neglect or adversity. These can be things which seem very small to the adults but have a big impact for the child.
Maintaining high quality in our ELC settings goes a long way to supporting all of Highland’s children, no matter what stage they are at.
Join us as we look at what Realising the Ambition has to say about adversity and trauma.

Self and Team Care during Covid-19
Wednesday 10th February, 7pm until 8pm
In this live session we will be thinking of things you can do to help you relax and take care of yourself. Are you meeting all of your basic needs? We will have a look at Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. If your wellbeing isn’t good, how does this affect others?
Realising the Ambition suggests there are 5 steps you can take to improve mental health and wellbeing for yourself and for your team. We will also signpost you to specific support for ELC staff.

Responsive and Intentional Learning
Thursday 11th February, 11am until 11.45am
This session will explore how we provide a balance of both responsive and intentional learning experiences for children in our day-to-day practice to support their learning and development.
This is a live rerun of the Responsive and Intentional Learning bitesize session delivered in June 2020 and is a precursor to a bitesize session on Responsive and Intentional Planning which will be available later in February.
