Next Week’s Early Years Training Opportunities (w/c 1st March)

There is no training scheduled for this week due to the return of ELC – P3 to enable practitioners to settle back into settings with the children.

Responsive and Intentional Planning Bitesize

Wednesday 3rd March, 16.00-17.00

We will be exploring what Realising the Ambition tells us about Responsive and Intentional Planning. We will consider –

  • The planning cycle
  • The importance of curriculum and pedagogy in quality settings
  • How this relates to Curriculum for Excellence
  • Documentation
  • Tasks to reflect on with your team to inform your next steps

Please note that places must be booked in advance on Highland CPD and approved by your CPD co-ordinator by Mon 1/3/21.  This session is held using Microsoft Teams.

This session is a follow up to the Responsive and Intentional Learning session which was delivered in June 2020 and re-run on 11/2/21. If you have yet to engage with that session please watch the recording of it at Highland Digital Schools Hub prior to attending this session. 

 

Early Years Outdoor Play and Learning: Practical Considerations

Thursday 4th March, 16.00-16.45

This session is a re-run of the outdoor play and learning bitesize training delivered in September 2020.  It will focus on providing guidance around some of the practical considerations for taking play and learning outdoors. 

Some of these considerations include: hand washing, food provision, toileting, clothing, shelter, risk/benefit assessment plus lots more. The session will be led by staff from the Early Years Education Support Officer team and will also feature input from practitioners within ELC and early primary settings.
