Smart Start

Smart Start

Healthy eating, physical activity, and the self awareness to begin making the best choices for ourselves are core components of every child’s development. The Smart Start programme covers these through an engaging and relevant set of resources and ideas for possible lines of development to follow the children’s interests. It also addresses many key experiences and outcomes outlined in Curriculum for Excellence.

The Smart Start Pack can be accessed via Glow or through CALA’s Smart Start E-learning module.

The following documents, Building the Ambition Guidance Document, Pre Birth to Three, food-matters, Setting the Table, My World Outdoors, Out to Play  provide useful information to support Health and Wellbeing within ELC settings.
