After identifying that 20% of our children are receiving support from SLT, we set up a ‘Lending Library’ with the hope to improve and encourage language both in the setting and at home. We are delighted with how the parents have responded to this, with 65% of parents making use of it within the first 2 weeks, including 16 SIMD families. Graduates plan to encourage our target families who are yet to engage, particularly those who have been highlighted as requiring support after carrying out the talk boost assessment. We will deliver the words up strategies using an informal approach to promote the key messages allowing the parents to better support their children within the home environment.
