It is an expectation within the National Care Standards (Care Inspectorate) that each child will have a personal care plan with input from parents/carers and staff. These plans are in place to meet the health, welfare and safety needs of each child in the setting.
Personal Care Plans should be completed by both parents/carers and EYPs when the child begins to attend the setting. These should be reviewed and updated with parents/carers at least every six months or as required and should clearly show what the intended outcome is.
Some settings are already using their own Personal Care Plan format. Settings may wish to use the Highland Council Personal Care Plan found below.
